Foreign Minister Qin Gang called on both China and Germany to support economic globalization and oppose decoupling or severing industrial and supply chains.

On June 19, in a phone call with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang affirmed: "By jointly upholding the principles of mutual respect, seeking common ground while putting aside differences, exchanging and learning, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation, China is willing to work with Germany to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations."
The top Chinese diplomat also called on both sides to jointly support economic globalization, oppose decoupling or severing industrial and supply chains, implement true multilateralism, safeguard regional and world peace and stability, and bring more stability, certainty and constructiveness to the world.
The phone call took place at the same time as Chinese Premier Li Qiang's visit to Germany.
During a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Mr. Li Qiang stated: “China is willing to work with Germany to maintain peace, development and cooperation, play a constructive role and contribute to global stability and development, and bring more stability to a world that is constantly changing and fluctuating.”
Premier Li Qiang will then attend a reception with his host counterpart Olaf Scholz. The two sides are expected to co-chair the seventh China-Germany Intergovernmental Consultation.
The head of the Chinese government will also attend the China-Germany Economic and Technical Cooperation Forum, meet with representatives of the German business and industrial community, and visit companies in the state of Bavaria.
