Tan Son Nhat denies rumors that T3 terminal will operate on May 5, 2025

In recent days, information spreading on social networks about the T3 terminal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (HCMC) will officially come into operation from May 5, 2025 has caused a stir in public opinion.

The widely shared content is that from May 5, Terminal T3 will handle procedures for domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, while the current Terminal T1 will serve Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines and Vasco.

However, a representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport denied this, affirming that this was not official information from the unit.

According to the airport representative, Tan Son Nhat has not yet announced the official date for putting terminal T3 into operation.

However, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the project investor, has set a goal of completing and inaugurating the new terminal on the big holiday of April 30, 2025.

Discussions with aviation service businesses at Tan Son Nhat revealed the possibility of operating in time for the April 30 holiday. Preparations for sales areas, food, and drinks are ready for operation.

Putting into operation T3 terminal is considered an important milestone in the effort to reduce the load on Tan Son Nhat T1 terminal, which has been seriously overloaded for many years.

Tan Son Nhat T3 passenger terminal project started construction in December 2022 with a total investment of up to VND 10,990 billion.

The project includes four main items: passenger terminal, multi-storey car park with integrated non-aviation services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking area.

The highlight of Terminal T3 is its modern design with two separate departure and arrival levels, equipped with 89 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters, 42 check-in kiosks, 26 boarding gates and 25 security control gates.

When completed, the terminal will have a capacity of more than 20 million passengers per year and serve 7,000 passengers during peak hours.
