Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 4/CD-TTg dated January 16, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival.

The dispatch stated that during the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival, traffic volume is forecast to continue to increase, creating great pressure on ensuring traffic order and safety, with the potential risk of traffic congestion and traffic accidents.

To ensure traffic order and safety to serve people celebrating the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival, the Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies and localities to continue to promote the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 132/CD-TTg, and at the same time have plans to meet the increased travel demand, effectively respond to common violations of traffic order and safety during holidays and Tet to ensure safety for traffic participants and best serve people's travel needs; prevent and stop traffic jams and traffic accidents.

Strengthening medical staff, equipment and supplies to ensure the highest capacity in medical examination and treatment, especially emergency care and treatment of traffic accident victims, minimizing human losses.

Media agencies increase the time and content of propaganda on traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival; focus on propaganda and dissemination of traffic safety laws; provide guidance on safe traffic participation skills, especially on highways; information to support and guide people on traveling during the Tet holiday; transportation service plans; lessons learned from traffic accidents during holidays and Tet in previous years.

Persistently propagate to the people to follow the traffic safety rules "If you drink alcohol, beer - do not drive"; do not use the phone while driving; wear a standard helmet when riding a motorbike, motorbike, electric bicycle; wear a seat belt when sitting in a car, comply with speed regulations.

Propaganda to support the implementation of tasks of functional forces in charge of ensuring traffic order and safety; commend information on good people, good deeds and good traffic culture behaviors.

Regularly update the situation of traffic accidents, traffic jams, high risks of traffic accidents on roads, railway crossings, inland waterways, main traffic routes, key traffic hubs, areas where events and festivals are held.

The plans of the People's Committees of provinces and cities must be specific, have a detailed list of tasks, assign responsible agencies and allocate resources for implementation. During the implementation process, there must be supervision, urging, summarizing and quantitatively evaluating the effectiveness with specific indicators.

Assign competent focal points to organize 24/7 duty, report on the situation of ensuring order and traffic safety during the 9 days of the Lunar New Year holiday, from January 25 to February 2 (ie December 26, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year) to the National Traffic Safety Committee, in which the quick report is sent before 2:00 p.m. every day, the summary report of the 9 days of the Lunar New Year holiday is sent before 2:00 p.m. on February 2.
