Strengthening Vietnam - Angola educational cooperation

Within the framework of the 7th Session of the Vietnam - Angola Intergovernmental Committee held in Luanda (Angola), on March 26 and 27, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam - Angola Intergovernmental Committee, paid a courtesy visit to Angolan leaders and visited and worked at Agostinho Neto University.

At the meetings and working sessions, representatives of the ruling party, the National Assembly and the Government of Angola all agreed that Minister Nguyen Kim Son's visit and work in Angola is a vivid demonstration of the good relationship between the two countries, an important and meaningful milestone in promoting cooperation between the two sides.

Angola expressed its wish to continue receiving support from Vietnam in human resource training, sharing experiences in education management, responding to climate change, and reducing poverty.

Regarding investment cooperation, Angola said it always welcomes and commits to providing full information and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to come and invest in Angola.

During meetings and working sessions with Angolan officials, Minister Nguyen Kim Son informed about some of Vietnam's outstanding achievements after nearly 40 years of renovation, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

At the same time, he also affirmed that Vietnam and Angola have a traditional friendship, which needs to be further consolidated and enhanced in many areas in the coming time, especially in the fields of economics, investment, agriculture, education and health.

Regarding the support proposals related to human resource training and expert supply, Minister Nguyen Kim Son suggested that Angolan authorities should soon calculate and make more specific requests to report to the Vietnamese Government leaders for consideration and decision. He also pledged to soon provide full information to the Vietnamese business community about potential investment opportunities in Angola.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Minister Nguyen Kim Son thanked the ruling party and the Government of Angola for supporting Vietnam in establishing official relations with the African Union as an observer, and expressed his hope that Vietnam will be a bridge between Angola and African countries with ASEAN countries.

As Co-Chair of the Vietnam-Angola Intergovernmental Committee, the Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training also hopes that the Intergovernmental Committee meeting taking place on March 28 will be an opportunity for the two sides to promote stronger cooperation in many fields in the coming time.
