At the conference, delegates listened to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong inform on the topic "Overview of the socio-economic situation in 2023; forecast of the situation and socio-economic development plan in 2024"; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang inform on the topic: "Overview of the world situation, foreign affairs activities of the Party and State in 2023; forecast of the world situation and foreign affairs tasks in 2024".
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy asked delegates to closely follow the information provided by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang at the conference. Thereby, focusing on propaganda, affirming the correctness of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; the efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, the business community; the solidarity and close coordination of all levels, sectors, and localities in implementing socio-economic development tasks in the context of many difficulties and challenges in the world and regional situation.
Regarding the world situation, the Party and State's foreign affairs activities in 2023 and the foreign affairs tasks in 2024, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy asked reporters to propagate and affirm that in a very difficult international context, foreign affairs work in 2023 has achieved important results, creating new breakthroughs. As General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong assessed, foreign affairs and diplomacy have achieved historic achievements, becoming an impressive bright spot in the overall results and achievements of the country over more than half of the 13th National Congress term.
In addition, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy also asked reporters to strengthen propaganda to celebrate major holidays and important historical events, including the 94th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024); propaganda emphasizing the Party's viewpoint stated in the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XIII, on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation, which is: "Firmly pursuing the goal of national independence and socialism; resolutely, persistently, proactively creating opportunities, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; maintaining a peaceful, stable environment and favorable conditions for national construction and development"...
