Specifically, by the end of 2023, after 26 months of operation, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong train had transported nearly 20 million passengers. In September 2023 alone, the train set three records: the highest number of passengers traveling on a holiday, up to 56,000 (September 2); the highest number of passengers traveling on a working day, 37,000 (September 28); the highest number of passengers in a month, reaching over 1 million.

Regarding passenger traffic, when it first started operating, the train carried more passengers on weekends than on weekdays, reaching around 30,000 passengers/day. However, on weekends, it currently only reaches 22,000-24,000 passengers. Meanwhile, on working days, the number of passengers fluctuates between 35,000-36,000.

According to the management unit's assessment, the number of passengers experiencing the train has decreased, instead, there are students, workers... who have a real and regular need to take the train. Currently, many passengers have accepted to leave their personal vehicles and walk 1-2km to the station, take the train to go to school or work. The Hanoi Department of Transport also noted that along the Cat Linh - Ha Dong train corridor, the operation has reduced some congestion points.

Hanoi Railway Company Limited also said that from November 6, 2023, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong trains will be out of warranty. Currently, the management and operation of the trains are entirely by Vietnamese personnel.
