Freight train derailed while passing Hai Van Pass in Da Nang

On the morning of November 2, authorities were still working to fix the train derailment incident while passing Hai Van Pass, Da Nang .

Initial information, at 9:10 p.m. on November 1, the freight train was moving onto track 1 of Hai Van Nam station. When reaching km 771+800, the train derailed 3 carriages.

The axles of the above cars were thrown off the rail, containers on cars 641351 and 631418 fell onto track 2, and the container on car 641349 fell 45 degrees to the left in the direction of the train.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporters on the morning of November 2, a representative of Da Nang station said that last night and this morning, the railway industry transferred passengers through the railway area that was blocked due to the derailment of a freight train.

The railway industry has carried out passenger transfers across the railway area that is blocked due to the freight train derailment.

The railway industry mobilized forces and equipment to rescue the derailed train, aiming to soon reopen the North-South railway line.

A representative of Vietnam Railway Corporation said that according to plan, the road will be cleared between 10:30 and 11:00 today.

“After completing the transfer of trains SE 5/6 this morning, the passenger transfer plan will stop. Trains SE9 and SE19 will arrive at Lang Co ( Hue ) at around 10am, wait for the road to clear and then go straight,” a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation informed.
