Japanese golfer wins FedEx St. Jude Championship

The FedEx Cup Play-Offs are a series of three tournaments that conclude the season on the PGA Tour (the prestigious golf tournament system for men, equivalent to the Masters in tennis). These three tournaments include the FedEx St. Jude Championship, BMW Championship and Tour Championship.

At the end of the FedEx St. Jude Championship early this morning, 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medalist Hideki Matsuyama won the championship with a total score of -17 strokes.

Second place went to Viktor Hovland (Norway) and former Olympic champion Xander Schauffele (USA), each with a total score of -15 strokes.

The 4th place finisher at the FedEx St. Jude Championship is the 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist Scottie Scheffler (USA), with a total score of -14 strokes.

Immediately after the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the 50 golfers who will advance to the BMW Championship have been determined. Among these 50, there are most of the strongest golfers in the world today, on the PGA Tour, such as the group of golfers with the above rankings, along with former world number one Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), former world number two Collin Morikawa (USA).

In addition, former FedEx Cup play-off champion Patrick Cantlay (USA), as well as very strong golfers such as Tony Finau (USA), or Sam Burns (USA) all won the right to continue.
