Piloting 20 electric cars to carry tourists for sightseeing and tourism within a limited area in Bao Ha and Tan An communes

On June 12, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document 1448/QD-UBND approving the pilot project of four-wheeled vehicles with electric engines to transport tourists within a limited area in Bao Ha commune (Bao Yen district) and Tan An commune (Van Ban district).

According to the decision, the unit that prepares and implements the Project is Anh Thu General Trading Company Limited; there will be 20 vehicles participating in the pilot phase in the period of 2024 - 2025. The vehicles will operate on the following routes: National Highway 279, Roads T1, T2, T10, Lien Ha 2 in Bao Ha Commune, Bao Yen District and National Highway 279 in Tan An Commune, Van Ban District (the beginning of the road leading to the IC16 intersection - Bao Ha Bridge). The company's parking lot and repair shop are located in Lien Ha 1 Village, Bao Ha Commune, Bao Yen District, with a parking area of 250 m2 .

Vehicles in operation must ensure fire and explosion prevention and environmental sanitation. Vehicles participating in the pilot operation are 100% new, with a 2-axle, 4-wheel structure, a maximum design speed of no more than 30 km/h, and a capacity of 8-15 seats (including the driver). Vehicles must meet the following regulations: have a valid vehicle registration certificate and inspection certificate, be equipped with a certified journey monitoring device, ensure full and continuous recording and transmission of mandatory information... Drivers must have a class B2 or higher motor vehicle license, and must not drive for more than 4 consecutive hours and no more than 10 hours/day, within the operating time range of 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Based on the scope of operating routes, the company will basically implement 4 forms of calculating transportation fares: By kilometers traveled (VND/km); each trip by person on the route based on declared and listed fares (VND/ticket/route); by renting the entire vehicle (VND/vehicle/day); according to the contract agreed between the two parties.

The pilot project of 4-wheeled vehicles with electric engines to transport tourists aims to provide transportation services suitable to the needs and characteristics of the transportation system and the travel preferences of tourists; reduce the density of vehicles participating in traffic (motorbike taxis, homemade horse-drawn carriages, large-capacity passenger cars, etc.), limit traffic congestion during peak days; contribute to creating jobs and increasing stable income for workers; gradually build the tourism image of Lao Cai province and Bao Yen and Van Ban districts.
