Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Apple CEO Tim Cook consider Vietnam a production "base" in the global supply chain to diversify the market.
On the afternoon of April 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Government headquarters. He highly appreciated and thanked Apple for expanding production and business in Vietnam, creating more than 200,000 jobs for workers.

To contribute to concretizing the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Government leader asked Apple to continue supporting Vietnam in institutional improvement, green development, green production, renewable energy, wind power, solar power, and biomass power.
He also hopes that Apple will support the training of high-quality human resources and consider Vietnam as a "stronghold" to participate in the global supply chain, production, and market diversification. The government will establish a working group to support Apple to develop more effectively in Vietnam.

Tim Cook said he is having a wonderful visit and working in Vietnam, witnessing the strong, vibrant and energetic innovation community. He wishes to further promote high-quality cooperation and investment activities in Vietnam.
Before meeting with the Vietnamese government leaders, Tim Cook visited Hanoi Star School in Thanh Xuan District. He interacted with students and teachers in the school yard, then went to the main building to attend a Science class, where students used 100% iPads.
Arriving in Hanoi yesterday, Apple CEO walked around Hoan Kiem Lake, chatted with technology KOL Ngo Duc Duy. He then drank egg coffee for about 30 minutes with singers My Linh and My Anh at a restaurant in the Old Quarter. During the chat, Mr. Tim Cook discussed a number of art and creative fields, as well as learned about Hanoi's culture and history.

Apple said it would deepen its commitment to Vietnam, increasing spending on suppliers and making progress on an initiative to provide clean water to local schools. "There is no place like Vietnam, a vibrant and beautiful country," said the Apple CEO.
Tim Cook, 64, joined Apple in March 1998 as senior vice president of worldwide operations and later executive vice president. He was appointed CEO of Apple in August 2011.
After taking the top job, he quickly demonstrated his leadership ability by helping Apple double its revenue and profit from 2011 to 2020. By 2023, Apple became the first company in the world to reach a market capitalization of $3,000 billion. Under Tim Cook, Apple launched completely new technology products such as the Apple Watch and Vision Pro virtual reality glasses.
