The official delegation joining the working trip with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife included: Minister and Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong (joining the delegation in Australia); Deputy Minister of National Defense Hoang Xuan Chien; Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission Truong Quang Hoai Nam; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Australia Pham Hung Tam (joining the delegation in Australia); Ambassador, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to ASEAN Nguyen Hai Bang (joining the delegation in Australia); Ambassador of Vietnam to New Zealand Nguyen Van Trung (joining the delegation in New Zealand). In addition, leaders of a number of ministries, branches and localities also participated in the working trip.

The Special Summit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia relations, themed “Partnership for the Future”, is being held in the context of dynamic cooperation between ASEAN and Australia in many fields. The Summit is an opportunity for the two sides to review the past 50 years of relations and discuss measures to promote substantive and effective development of relations, in line with the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2021.

Also during the working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay an official visit to Australia and New Zealand. This is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's first official visit to Australia and New Zealand in his new position, and the first visit by a Prime Minister to the two countries in more than 7 years.

The visit contributes to strengthening political trust, deepening multifaceted cooperation, bringing the bilateral relations between Vietnam - Australia and Vietnam - New Zealand into a more substantial and effective state in the fields of politics, diplomacy, security, defense, economy, trade, investment, ODA, education - training, culture - tourism, labor, etc.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to Australia and New Zealand continues to actively implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, Conclusion 59-KL/TU of the Politburo on orientations for ASEAN participation until 2030 and Directive 25-CT/TU of the Secretariat on promoting and elevating multilateral foreign relations until 2030.
