"We have bilateral economic and trade relations, various areas of cooperation and maintain good relations in the security field. But it is also true that today we no longer speak the same language. Problems in relations with Russia cannot be hidden," Mirzoyan was quoted as saying by TASS.

Asked about the risk of diplomatic relations being severed between the two countries, Armenia's foreign minister said that his country "has a fair expectation that the commitments of Yerevan and Moscow on territorial integrity will be put in writing" and implemented by both sides.

Referring to relations with the US and the European Union (EU), in the context of the upcoming Armenia-EU-US trilateral meeting on April 5, Mr. Mirzoyan stated that Yerevan is seeking closer relations with these two partners.

"We see the US and the EU as great partners. The EU is ready to send a civilian delegation and the situation on the border has improved significantly. Their presence has significantly contributed to peace in the region and on the part of Armenia," the head of Armenian diplomacy said.

According to him, Yerevan is currently strengthening economic and political relations with the EU and Washington, but does not call this a "pivot policy" but only "trying to ensure Armenia's security and development along the democratic path and institutions" with good partners in the West who can support in this matter.

Also in the interview, the Armenian Foreign Minister stated that the country has no plans to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and does not put this issue on the national agenda.

However, Armenia has been cooperating with NATO to participate in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan as well as increasing its presence in Kosovo.
