After his death, to pay respect to him, the local people set up an altar for him in My Tinh An communal house, 100m from where he was beheaded. In 1995, the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Tien Giang province invested in and built a temple next to his grave as it is today, and from then on it was called the temple of "Valedictorian Nguyen Huu Huan".
