The strong profit-taking selling pressure caused the VN-Index to lose its green color in the last trading session of the week. Foreign investors also turned to net selling more than VND211 billion on the HOSE after 3 consecutive net buying sessions before.

The stock market opened the trading session on February 2 quite positively because money flowed into the market, especially into the real estate and securities groups, causing these two stocks to increase sharply. After that, massive profit-taking pressure pulled the VN-Index back below the reference point at the end of the session.

Banking stocks continued to be sold off heavily, so they leaned towards red despite the differentiation. Specifically, OCB decreased by 2.03%, SHB decreased by 1.29%, VPB decreased by 1.83%, TPB decreased by 1.96%, VIB decreased by 1.94%, CTG decreased by 1.09%; EIB, MBB, BID, LPB decreased by nearly 1%. On the contrary, HDB increased by 2.52%; STB, ACB, VCB increased by nearly 1%.

The group of securities stocks leaned towards green: VIX increased by 1.72%, VCI increased by 1.16%, AGR increased by 2.08%, APG increased by 1.89%, CTS increased by 1.13%; SSI, VND, HCM, FTS increased by nearly 1%.

Although the real estate - construction group was also sold for profit after increasing sharply during the session, many stocks still increased positively: PDR increased by 4.42%, NVL increased by 1.8%, NLG increased by 1.15%, LCG increased by 2%, HDG increased by 1.52%, DPG increased by 1.48%, CII increased by 1.92%; CEO, HDC, SZC, DIG increased by nearly 1%. On the contrary, KBC decreased by 1.28%, VRE decreased by 1.55%; BCM, NTL, DXG, CTD, VIC, VCG decreased by nearly 1%.

Manufacturing stocks also turned down: VGC decreased by 1.28%, SBT decreased by 1.12%, AAA decreased by 1.85%, GIL decreased by 1.89%, ASm decreased by 1.43%...

At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 0.47 points (0.04%) to 1,172.55 points with 267 stocks decreasing, 199 stocks increasing and 89 stocks remaining unchanged.

At the end of the session on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also decreased by 0.01 point to 230.56 points with 92 stocks decreasing, 92 stocks increasing and 72 stocks remaining unchanged. Liquidity increased again, the total transaction value on the HOSE floor was more than 20,000 billion VND, an increase of 5,000 billion VND compared to the previous session.
