Receiving the remains of 15 martyrs who died in Laos

As planned, tomorrow morning (May 15), leaders of functional agencies, relevant units of the two provinces and the people will offer incense to bid farewell before repatriating the martyrs through Na Meo International Border Gate and will organize the burial of the martyrs at Dong Tam International Cemetery.

On the morning of May 14, in Sam Neua town (Hua Phan province, Laos), the Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province and the Special Working Group of Hua Phan province organized the reception and handover of the remains of martyrs, volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who died in Laos (search and collection period in the dry season 2023-2024).

Colonel Le Van Trung, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the 515 Steering Committee of Thanh Hoa province and Colonel Phan Si Xon Mi Xay, Political Commissar of the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command co-chaired the handover ceremony.

Representatives of the Special Working Groups of Hua Phan and Thanh Hoa provinces signed the Minutes of handover of the remains of Vietnamese martyrs who died in Laos.

In the 2023-2024 dry season, the Collection Team of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and people (Laos) to overcome many difficulties and hardships to search for, collect and collect the remains of 15 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Sam Neua, Vieng Xay, Muong Hiem, Muong Son, and Hua Muong districts of Hua Phan province.

On behalf of the Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province, Colonel Le Van Trung expressed his emotion and sincere thanks to the Party, the State, the Special Working Group of Hua Phan province, the armed forces and the people of Lao ethnic groups for creating favorable conditions to help the Collection Team search, collect and collect martyrs' remains to successfully complete their tasks.
