Tiger Woods is about to rematch

VnExpressVnExpress19/11/2023

The 2023 Hero World Challenge from November 30 to December 3 will mark the return of the former world number one golfer after eight months of injury.

Woods last played in April. The former world number one American competed in a major at the Masters, but withdrew from the third round due to a recurrence of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He underwent surgery a few days later and has left the date of his rematch open.

On November 18, Woods suddenly announced that he would participate in the Hero World Challenge, a tournament on the PGA Tour calendar that he will host at the Albany par72 course in the Bahamas, combined with raising funds for his own charity.

Last year, Woods was also committed to playing but withdrew due to a sudden pain in his right foot just before the opening day. It was then that he discovered he had plantar fasciitis. This is an inflammation and damage to the longitudinal band of muscle in the sole of the foot - the part that connects the heel bone to the toes. This condition causes heel pain, leading to difficulty walking and even unsteadiness when standing. If not treated promptly, it will turn into chronic pain, greatly affecting daily activities.

Over the past 26 years, "Super Tiger" has won 15 majors, currently holding the record of 82 cups on the PGA Tour with the legendary Sam Snead. But in the process of achieving that great feat, the American golf superstar has had to go under the knife at least 10 times due to professional injuries, of which five were in his left knee, the other in his back.
