Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is being actively researched and applied by Hanoi city in the process of urban reconstruction.
Dr. Nguyen Tai Thu, Urban Railway Management Department (Hanoi Department of Construction) said that TOD is identified as a strategic tool to redevelop the capital, realizing the vision by 2045, Hanoi is on par with the capitals of developed countries in the region and the world . TOD has been legalized and codified in the Capital Law 2024, the Railway Law (draft amendment), specific Resolutions of the National Assembly and approved Planning.
