Ukrainian President Reveals Plan to Force Russia to Sit at the Negotiating Table, Moscow "Advises" NATO Not to Listen to Kiev

In a recent interview with an American television channel, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined what "necessary" must be done to get Russia "to sit at the negotiating table" under Kiev's conditions.

According to President Zelensky, if the Russians are deprived of comfort, namely "electricity and a sense of security", they will put pressure on President Vladimir Putin. The Ukrainian leader believes that this is necessary for Russia to "sit at the negotiating table" on Kiev's terms.

Referring to the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) to attack the Kursk province on August 6, Mr. Zelensky said that the purpose was to force the Russian army to move and "it was the right idea", but he also called the VSU attack on this border area a risky operation.

Regarding the conflict situation, on September 16, the Ukrainian Air Force said that air defense forces shot down 53 out of 56 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in 10 areas in an attack last night, mainly targeting the Kiev area.

Meanwhile, Governor of Russia's Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov announced that Ukraine's attack on the city of the same name in this region injured eight people on the same morning.

On the Kremlin side, spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia will continue its "special military operation" in Ukraine until its goals are achieved. He said: "We have enough military and economic capabilities to support the armed forces."

In another development, Sputnik news agency on the same day quoted the head of the Information Policy Committee of the Federation Council (Russian Senate) Alexei Pushkov as saying: "On the issue of allowing Ukraine to use Western missiles to attack targets deep inside Russian territory, NATO countries should not listen to Mr. Zelensky, but should pay attention to where this adventure will lead them."

Believing that the Ukrainian President is trying to drag NATO into a full-scale conflict with Russia, the official warned: "That intention does not cause Moscow to fail, does not change the balance of forces and the situation on the front to benefit Kiev, but risks dragging the West into a conflict in which they do not want to directly participate."
