Among the 5 traditional combinations for the 2025 high school graduation exam, A01 (math, physics, English) has the second lowest number of candidates with 29 points or more, after combination D01 (math, literature, English), which only has one candidate at this level.

According to Thanh Nien statistics from the 2025 high school graduation exam score data of the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates achieving a total score of 29 or higher in group A01 is 31, of which Ho Chi Minh City leads with 9 candidates and followed by Hanoi with 6 candidates. However, the title of valedictorian of this group belongs to a candidate from Hanoi, Nguyen Viet Hung, a student of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted.

Notably, Hung is also the valedictorian of the D01 (math, literature, English), C01 (math, literature, physics), D11 (literature, physics, English) combination and the national valedictorian of the 2025 high school graduation exam with a total score of 39 in 4 subjects.

In general, the A01 group has a variety of candidates with a total score of 29 or higher, distributed quite evenly across the three regions of the North, Central and South, not too isolated in a certain area. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City and Thanh Hoa each have two runners-up of the A01 group, while Hanoi, Lang Son and Quang Ninh each have one runner-up of the A01 group.

This year, after receiving their high school graduation exam scores, candidates can apply for a review from July 16-25. From July 22, candidates will receive their high school graduation exam results certificate and other relevant certificates for university admission. From July 16 to 5 p.m. on July 28, candidates can register and adjust their wishes an unlimited number of times and pay fees online from July 29 to 5 p.m. on August 5.

Before 5:00 p.m. on August 22, training institutions will notify candidates who have passed the first round of admission and before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, candidates will confirm their admission online for the first round on the Ministry of Education and Training's system.
