According to data from the market research company Statista (Germany), by 2025, online sales will account for about 1/10 of Vietnam's total retail sales and the e-commerce market will reach 9 billion USD. Products such as beauty, home appliances, electronics, fashion , toys, and furniture are the fastest growing industries in Vietnam's e-commerce. The new retail model will have a strong impact on traditional sales methods.

Also according to Statista, in 2017, the number of online consumers in Vietnam only accounted for about 28% of the total number of consumers. By 2020, the number of online consumers in Vietnam accounted for nearly 50%. It is estimated that by 2025, with a population of about 100 million people, the number of online consumers in Vietnam will account for more than 70%.

Vietnam’s e-commerce business is quickly catching up and surpassing other ASEAN countries. In the United Nations’ 2020 e-commerce survey of 193 countries and territories, Vietnam ranked 86th, up 2 places.

Vietnam is also actively perfecting and developing e-commerce with the goal of becoming one of the four major countries in Southeast Asia by 2025. Currently, Vietnam's 40 million online shoppers spend an average of about 210 USD/year, ranking second among ASEAN countries.

Vietnam's e-commerce market will continue to grow as internet penetration increases, smartphones become more widely used, and people's confidence in online shopping increases.

Notably, as an ASEAN country with a strong economic development, in recent years, Vietnam has attracted the attention of a large number of Chinese companies. Expanding the brands of Chinese companies to Vietnam and cooperating with Vietnamese partners to expand the market has become a common desire of Chinese companies.

Based on the supply capacity of Chinese companies and the demand of the Vietnamese market, the Vietnam Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition 2023 will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) on August 10-12.

It is expected that establishments and industrial clusters from all over China, including industrial clusters of cosmetics, household appliances, underwear, pets, kitchenware and other industries popular in the Vietnamese market, will participate in the Exhibition.

Concurrently with the Exhibition, the Vietnam Digital Economy Development Forum will also be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with industry guests sharing the development situation and future plans of the respective industries or businesses to seek cooperation opportunities, inviting representatives of e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiktok to build a comprehensive development plan for the Vietnamese market, strengthening cooperation with operators to accelerate the digital transformation of the Vietnamese e-commerce market.

The exhibition will strengthen cooperation with Internet celebrities, hosts and MCN multi-channel network organizations, and through their promotion and attraction on platforms such as: Facebook, Intasgram, Tiktok attract online sellers and sellers on platforms to participate in the exhibition.

Vietnam Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition is not only a commodity exhibition in the traditional sense, but will integrate overseas warehouses, logistics transportation, platform distribution, and in-depth cooperation with mainstream e-commerce platforms.

The exhibition will invite a large number of multi-channel network (MCN) organizations, experts, hosts, Internet celebrities, make full use of new media and marketing methods, and use the resources of agency operations and live broadcast to connect product sales channels and expand new markets for exhibitors.

Droshipping, one-click shopping, QR code scanning or ChatGPT and other advanced technologies will also strongly support e-commerce channel operators.
