On December 8, Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong attended and delivered a speech at the Second Ministerial Dialogue on Police Cooperation and Capacity Building between China and Pacific Island Countries in Beijing.
The dialogue was co-chaired by Mr. Wang Xiaohong and Samoa Minister of Police and Prisons Faualo Harry Jeffrey Schuster. Delegations from Solomon Islands, Tonga, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and the Cook Islands attended the event.
There, he declared that the country is ready to cooperate with all parties involved to strengthen law enforcement and security cooperation with the Pacific island nation.
China's State Councilor and Minister of Public Security also affirmed that the Asian powerhouse will help improve the capacity of Pacific island nations to fight crime and enforce the law professionally.
Minister Wang Xiaohong also noted that China is willing to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation with Pacific island countries, and build a more cohesive community with a shared future in security under the principles of “professionalism, efficiency and friendship” as well as “openness, transparency and goodwill.”
