On August 19, 1968, a fateful bomb was dropped on the 9A class hut of Ly Tu Trong High School, Ninh hamlet (now Trua village), Viet Tien commune, taking the lives of 16 innocent students, leaving behind wounds and inconsolable pain for their families, relatives and those left behind.

In 2009, the Ly Tu Trong High School War Crime Relic Site was invested in construction from the provincial budget, becoming a historical memorial site, a destination for visitors and researchers.
Through the process of construction and development, with the efforts of the Party Committee and the People of the commune, the attention and support of all levels, sectors, and former students, in 2015, the War Crimes Relic of Ly Tu Trong High School was recognized by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic. Up to now, the relic's campus has been expanded, ensuring spaciousness and solemnity.
In 2022, the memorial house of the relic site will be built with a budget of over 1.1 billion VND from socialized sources.
At the ceremony, delegates and people offered fragrant incense sticks and fresh bouquets of flowers in memory of 16 students of Ly Tu Trong High School in the past; recalled memories, the ups and downs of history, the difficult days of living and studying under the protection of compatriots, and vowed to work together to make society more and more beautiful.
