After Tran Thi Thanh Thuy left the Indonesian team, Vietnamese women's volleyball still has a star playing abroad. That is Tran Thi Bich Thuy, a middle blocker who just joined the GS Caltex Seoul club (Korea) at the end of December 2024. The athlete born in 2000 performed well in the first matches and gradually gained trust.
Coach Lee Young-taek of GS Caltex Seoul revealed that Tran Thi Bich Thuy could be used in the near future. Specifically, Mr. Lee has a tactical idea to take advantage of the Vietnamese middle blocker's ability.
"Oh Seo-yeon is playing steadily. Kwon Min-ji is up and down but is still performing well. I can take advantage of Bich Thuy and Seo-yeon's quick attacks more. Practice sessions will help me find the answer," coach Lee Young-taek revealed.

Previously, after the first few matches using Bich Thuy in the Korean championship, the head coach of GS Caltex Seoul highly appreciated the skills of this middle blocker. The blocking moves of the athlete born in 2000 had a big difference compared to his teammates.
"Thuy is still a bit hesitant when blocking the ball, but her attacking moves are very good. She has good jumping power. I recognize her blocking ability. When Bich Thuy plays well, it is easier for the back row players to defend," said Mr. Lee Young-taek.
After the first 7 matches playing for GS Caltex, Bich Thuy scored 49 points. Bich Thuy's scoring rate in attacks is 44.93%. In the top 30 players with the most points in round 4 of the Korean women's volleyball tournament, only 4 athletes have a higher scoring rate than Bich Thuy.
In the match against Korea Expressway - GS Caltex Seoul's most recent victory, Bich Thuy had 3 successful blocks, one of which scored 21-20 to help GS Caltex take the lead at the decisive moment before winning the match-point to bring home the final victory 3-1.
