Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan went to the hotel where U22 Vietnam was staying to visit and encourage the players. U22 Vietnam just suffered a painful defeat against U22 Indonesia in the semi-finals. Despite having an advantage of more players, U22 Vietnam still conceded a goal in extra time, losing with a score of 2-3. U22 Vietnam became the former champion after 2 consecutive SEA Games.

Coach Troussier and the coaching staff also conveyed the message of returning to the players with a stronger determination. U22 Vietnam still has a match to compete for the bronze medal with U22 Myanmar. Although the players were disappointed, they understood that the mission at the SEA Games was not over, so the whole team quickly entered training with a high spirit of determination.
The players stayed at the hotel to work out in the gym. The atmosphere was quiet but everyone was training with the utmost seriousness. Coach Philippe Troussier had divided the players into two training groups with two different training plans. The main competition group only did supplementary exercises and sauna to help speed up the recovery process. The other group was given additional endurance and strength exercises.

Tomorrow afternoon, May 15, U22 Vietnam will go to the training ground to complete the final stages for the match against U22 Myanmar. This match will take place at 4:00 p.m. on May 16 at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh.
