According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 7 months of 2025, Quang Ninh tourism recorded many positive results, continuing to affirm its role as a key economic sector, making an important contribution to the overall growth of the province. The total number of tourists to Quang Ninh reached about 14.6 million (113% over the same period in 2024 and 109% of the growth scenario). Of which, international visitors reached over 2.6 million (119% over the same period in 2024 and 58% of the growth scenario). Total revenue from tourism reached about 36,700 billion VND (125% over the same period in 2024 and 106% of the growth scenario). Average spending per visitor reached 2.75 million VND/visit; Average length of stay 2.7 days (both increased compared to previous years).
Over 100 cultural, sports and tourism events were organized in a vibrant and large scale such as Ha Long Carnival, Skywave music festival, Miss Vietnam Global Sea, Ha Long Bay Marathon, International Yoga Day... creating strong attraction, contributing to maintaining Quang Ninh's position as the leading festival destination in the North.
Tourism promotion and advertising activities have been strongly implemented in many key markets such as Korea, Japan, China, India, France, etc. Notably, the province has welcomed 33 international cruise ships with about 47,000 visitors (an increase of 25% compared to the same period in 2024). MICE activities, luxury tourism , and wedding organization have also been promoted.
Tourism products are increasingly diverse and have their own mark such as: Night cruise street, live show "Finding pearls" at Vung Duc cave; tour to explore pristine islands; hot air balloon experience; fireworks show at Bai Chay and Mong Cai...
In particular, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage has opened a new chapter for Quang Ninh tourism.
Accommodation infrastructure has been upgraded with more than 1,600 facilities, nearly 44,000 rooms, including many 4-5 star hotels with international brands. The system of cruise ships on the bay has also been continuously invested in to improve quality. The tourism industry has proactively inspected, ensured the environment, tourism safety, applied technology in information and payment, and gradually implemented smart tourism.
Regarding the rare incident of the boat capsize on July 19, the province has handled it promptly, humanely and transparently. The entire industry has reviewed the process and applied more technology to enhance warnings and ensure the safety of tourists. Quang Ninh is still considered a safe and friendly destination by the media, businesses and domestic and foreign tourists.
At the conference, many delegates contributed solutions to fully develop the province's tourism potential and strengths.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that in the current context of open information, Quang Ninh needs to immediately deploy a strong communication strategy on all infrastructures and platforms, spreading the message of safe and friendly Quang Ninh tourism; promoting tourism, attracting fam trips (a form of tourism to learn, get acquainted, and market for travel agencies), press trips (trips for journalists)... to increase tourism connection opportunities; promoting MICE tourism.
At the same time, continue to form tourism products that are highlights and characteristics of Quang Ninh; establish the Quang Ninh Tourism Executive Council, Quang Ninh Culinary Association; form Quang Ninh branded restaurants with Michelin stars; Bai Chay ward takes the lead in coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a number of cultural and sports events... In particular, Quang Ninh province will also pay more attention to investing in all factors to ensure tourism safety; including port infrastructure, anchorage areas, sea rescue stations, rescue ships, medical ships...
After listening to the opinions of the delegates attending the meeting, Comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed: Tourism is still the spearhead of Quang Ninh's development in the coming time. With the current growth momentum, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 21.2 million visitors, with total revenue reaching 57,000 billion VND in 2025, continuing to affirm its brand as the leading tourist center in the country.
Therefore, the province will continue to effectively implement solutions to promote tourism in Quang Ninh. In particular, the government will focus on building tourism infrastructure, businesses must also research and create tourism products with depth, messages, stories and join hands to build an increasingly civilized, professional, friendly and safe tourism environment.
Quang Ninh province always welcomes businesses to propose initiatives and is ready to join hands with tourism units to attract tourists. Along with tourism activities, units must ensure environmental protection, green tourism, and sustainable development. The province will resolutely and strictly handle violations. In the immediate future, from now until the end of the year, Quang Ninh plans to continue to organize at least 148 cultural, sports and tourism events throughout the province, aiming to diversify experiences to attract tourists.
