Accordingly, in Tuong Duong district, by August 2024, through a preliminary survey, the whole district had about 3,700 poor and near-poor ethnic minority households lacking residential land and about 1,650 households without residential land. Regarding production land, the whole district had about 6,700 households lacking land and about 3,200 households without agricultural land. Similarly, in Quy Hop district, the number of households lacking residential land was 736 and 24 households; 1,809 households lacking production land and 206 households without production land. In Quy Chau district, there were 1,711 households lacking residential land and 266 households without production land. Que Phong district had 255 households lacking residential land and 530 households lacking production land...

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in 9 localities including Ky Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky, Thanh Chuong and Thai Hoa town, there are currently about 2,427 ethnic households without residential land or lacking residential land and about 15,453 households lacking production land or having no production land. The problem of lack of residential land and production land has led to shifting cultivation and nomadic living, leading to poverty, backwardness, social problems, security and order in ethnic minority areas.

Regarding the issue of residential land and production land for ethnic minorities, in recent times, the Party and the State have paid attention by proposing many policies and support policies to improve the lives of people in remote and isolated areas. Currently, the province is implementing two projects under the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, including Project 1 on "Solving the shortage of residential land, production land, and domestic water" and Project 2 on "Planning, arranging, and stabilizing the population in necessary places". This is also the basis for gradually resolving the pressing issues of lack of residential land and production land that are arising in practice.
