Visiting Mrs. Nguyen Thi Manh (born in 1938, from Ha Nam province, currently living in Hoa Huu Tay village, Dai Hong commune, Dai Loc), members of the delegation and she recalled the years of participating in the resistance war. Mrs. Manh was a youth volunteer, participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign when she was only 16 years old. With the task of providing first aid and supporting wounded soldiers, the volunteer Nguyen Thi Manh did not fear danger, charging forward on all fronts, contributing to the historic victory of the nation.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Thai Binh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Manh in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. At the same time, he wished her to always live happily and healthily, always teach and advise her children and grandchildren to strictly follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and actively participate in local activities.

On the same day, the delegation visited the martyr Phan Duc Huong (Binh Duong commune, Thang Binh) and visited soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline workers in Dai Loc, Dien Ban, and Hoi An districts. The delegation inquired about their health and family life, and reviewed the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954).

On this occasion, each surviving soldier, youth volunteer, and frontline laborer was given a gift worth 5 million VND (including gifts from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the State Bank; relatives of deceased Dien Bien soldiers and martyrs were supported with 1 million VND).

Mr. Ngo Van Quy (born in 1935, Thanh Ha ward, Hoi An city) expressed his joy that the Party and the State always care and look after him and hope that today's generation will promote the revolutionary tradition and strive to build a more prosperous and beautiful homeland.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, the whole province had 41 soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Of these, 2 were martyrs, 26 died, and 13 are still alive.
