Visitors had the opportunity to learn more and taste European quality dairy products, especially from the “emerald” country at the Bord Bia booth. In addition, 7 companies were present at the booth to discuss cooperation opportunities and build relationships between the two countries.

Fi Vietnam 2024 also provides an ideal platform to showcase the strengths of sustainable, pasture-based production methods and reinforce the EU/Ireland’s position as a trusted supplier of premium quality dairy products.

In 2022, Ireland was ranked second in the Global Food Security Index (GFSI), which assesses 113 countries based on 58 indicators, looking at issues related to affordability, availability and quality of food, as well as safety standards, natural resources and resilience.

Located on the western edge of Europe, Ireland's dairy industry is built on a tradition of family-run dairy farming passed down through generations, with around 17,000 family-owned dairy farms.

The island benefits from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico flowing through the Gulf Stream, creating a pleasant temperate climate. The region's abundant rainfall results in one of the longest growing seasons in Europe, creating ideal conditions for raising animals on lush green fields.

Thanks to these ideal agricultural conditions, on average, Irish cattle graze 240 hours on pasture, with 95% of their diet consisting of grass.

In 2023, Ireland produced 8.7 billion litres of milk and exported dairy products to around 140 markets worldwide .

Bord Bia – The Irish Food Commission is a government agency under the Department of Agriculture. Bord Bia is responsible for developing new markets and promoting Irish food, drink and agricultural products internationally.

Bord Bia’s role is to act as a bridge between Irish food, drink and agricultural companies and their current and potential customers. Bord Bia has 16 offices worldwide, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America, to promote trade in international markets.
