The 2024 high school graduation exam will take place in the next 2 days with more than 1 million candidates nationwide participating. At this time, in addition to "sprinting" to review and maintaining good health and spirit, candidates also need to memorize the exam regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, including regulations on allowed and prohibited items to bring into the exam room.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, if a candidate brings into the exam room one of the items on the prohibited list, he/she will be suspended from the exam. Candidates who are suspended from any exam will receive a score of 0 for that exam and will not be allowed to continue taking the next exams. This means that the candidate will not be eligible to be recognized as a high school graduate and will no longer have the opportunity to participate in the university entrance exam this year.

This year, 1,071,393 candidates registered for the 2024 high school graduation exam, 47,330 more than last year. Of which, the number of independent candidates was 46,978, an increase of 9,137 compared to 2023. Due to the increase in candidates, the number of exam scores this year also increased by 51 compared to last year, at 2,323 exam scores with 45,149 exam rooms. Notably, 66,927 candidates registered for exemption from the foreign language exam, accounting for 6.25% of the total number of candidates and an increase of more than 20,000 candidates compared to 2023.

The 2024 high school graduation exam will take place from June 26-29. Of which: June 26, candidates will complete exam registration procedures; June 27 and 28, candidates will take the exam; June 29 is the backup date. The exam scores are expected to be announced on July 17, the time for considering high school graduation recognition is no later than July 19, and then candidates can use the exam scores to apply for university and college admission.
