In early July, many people were excited to visit Mrs. Nguyen Thi Anh's longan garden (Bau Cong hamlet, Hau Nghia commune). The garden is less than 1 hectare wide, divided into 2 small areas with more than 380 longan trees in the harvest season. Many trees are bearing fruit.

Ms. Anh shared that her family has been growing longan for nearly 6 years. Initially, she bought 600 longan trees in Dong Nai province to plant. However, due to lack of experience, during the planting process, the trees weakened, lost strength, and gradually died, leaving only about 400 trees.

In order to protect the health of consumers, Ms. Anh's family chose to grow longan in a clean way, using only organic fertilizer and manure. After 3 years, the longan garden began to bear fruit, but the yield was not high, each crop only brought in a few tens of millions of VND. This year's longan season, Ms. Anh's family opened the garden for everyone to visit and pick longan.

Through social networks, many people know about her family's longan garden. Ms. Anh shared that in mid-June 2025, the first time her family's longan garden opened to welcome visitors to visit and buy longan, it attracted more than 300 people, and she earned more than 10 million VND.

Over the past 3 weeks, her family’s longan garden has welcomed hundreds of visitors, especially on weekends. Most of the visitors are young people from both local and foreign areas. They visit the garden, take souvenir photos, and harvest fruit.

Visitors experience picking longan in the garden

Ms. Tran Bao Ngan (area B, Hau Nghia commune) shared that through Facebook, she learned about the longan garden in Bau Cong hamlet, nearly 20 minutes by motorbike from her house, so it is very convenient to both visit and experience fruit picking. Similar to Ms. Ngan, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hung (An Ninh commune) and his group of friends also learned about the longan garden through social networks. On the weekend, his group of friends went to the garden to visit and pick fruit.

Mr. Hung said that the experience of picking fruit is not new, but being able to experience, visit and eat in the garden with relatives and friends, without spending too much time traveling, is also a quite interesting form of entertainment.

Ms. Anh added that to facilitate guests from afar or families and groups of friends to visit the garden, her family also serves country dishes. In addition, her family is also exploiting the land behind the house to plant a few dozen more durian trees to develop the orchard.

It is known that currently, in addition to Mrs. Anh's longan garden, Hau Nghia commune also has some households growing longan trees or intercropping longan trees with other fruit trees. In addition, some neighboring localities such as An Ninh commune, Hoa Khanh commune, ... also have some households converting traditional crops to growing fruit trees such as rambutan, durian, mulberry, longan, ... /.
