Vietnam assumes rotating chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires

ASEAN Ambassadors agreed with Vietnam's proposals, promoting work with government agencies and the business community to strengthen connectivity, expand and improve the effectiveness of economic and political cooperation.

On March 19 local time, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet, in his capacity as rotating Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee in Buenos Aires, chaired the 42nd regular meeting at the Vietnamese Embassy.

According to a VNA correspondent in Buenos Aires, Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet, along with Indonesian Ambassador Sulaiman Syarif, Malaysian Ambassador Nur Azman, Philippine Ambassador Grace T. Cruz-Fabella and Thai Ambassador Krit Tankanarat discussed plans expected to be implemented in the coming months to promote the image and position of ASEAN countries in Argentina and the region.

ASEAN Ambassadors agreed with Vietnam's proposals, promoting work with government agencies and the business community to promote connectivity, expand and enhance the effectiveness of economic and political cooperation.

In addition to organizing official ASEAN activities such as the ASEAN Event at the Argentine National Assembly, the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina will also host exchange activities such as ASEAN Family Day, sports competitions, culinary and cultural exchanges between representative agencies of ASEAN countries in Buenos Aires, to enhance understanding and promote the traditional spirit of solidarity among Southeast Asian countries./.
