At a regular press conference on the afternoon of July 3, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated Vietnam's viewpoint and reaction to information about Chinese ships conducting illegal surveys in our country's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.

Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated that foreign research and survey activities in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf - established in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) - without Vietnam's permission violate Vietnam's sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Vietnamese authorities always closely follow developments in the East Sea and implement measures in accordance with international and Vietnamese law. These actions aim to ensure Vietnam's legitimate rights and interests.
