(NLDO) – The price of SJC gold bars and gold rings both exceeded 89 million VND/tael right after the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the morning of February 3, the 6th day of the Lunar New Year, the price of SJC gold bars was simultaneously pushed up to the highest level of the year by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI , with the buying price at 87.3 million VND/tael and the selling price at 89.3 million VND/tael, an increase of about 500,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday. This is a sharp increase in the price of gold in recent days.
The difference between buying and selling prices is maintained at a high level of 2 million VND/tael.
Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds also skyrocketed. Enterprises such as SJC and PNJ listed the buying price at 87 million VND/tael; DOJI alone bought at 87.5 million VND/tael. On the selling side, the highest traded price of gold rings was up to 88.9 million VND/tael, an increase of 100,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday.
This morning, businesses and commercial banks officially resumed trading after the Tet holiday.
Gold price continues to increase today
Domestic gold prices increased sharply right after the Lunar New Year holiday, in the context of a sharp decline in world gold prices.
Previously, today's gold price on the international market had a series of very strong increases, surpassing the old peak of 2024 and setting a new peak of up to 2,820 USD/ounce.
By this morning, the price of gold had cooled down to $2,779 per ounce, down $18 per ounce compared to last weekend. The price of gold has gone down after many consecutive days of increase.
According to analysts, gold prices have cooled down in the short term but are being supported by many factors as demand for gold as a safe haven increases amid concerns over US President Donald Trump's tariff policies towards Canada and Mexico.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 85.2 million VND/tael.
