NDO - On November 14 and 15, in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province, a working delegation of the Navy led by Colonel Nguyen Van Bach, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Navy, inspected the comprehensive, exemplary, and typical unit in 2024 for the Naval Region 5 Command.
The working delegation included the Chief of Staff, Political Department, Logistics Department, Technical Department and representatives of functional agencies of the Navy.
The delegation inspected the implementation results of 4 criteria for building a strong, exemplary, and comprehensive unit. In particular, the focus was on political education ; the system of books and documents; training, combat readiness, logistics, finance, and technology; building a regular order, discipline management, and safety assurance.
The inspection showed that the Naval Region 5 Command has thoroughly grasped the situation and tasks, led, directed, and synchronously and effectively deployed many solutions to improve the quality of implementing the criteria for building a comprehensive, exemplary, and typical strong unit.

Naval Region 5 has done a good job of political and ideological education for officers and soldiers; effectively implemented the breakthrough of "Forecasting, grasping, managing, orienting, and resolving soldiers' ideology"; strictly maintained training and combat readiness, built a regular routine, trained discipline, and ensured safety; strictly managed assigned sea areas, not leaving out or missing targets, and being passive and surprised in all situations.
Effectively carry out patrolling, controlling, and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; do a good job in natural disaster prevention, search and rescue. During the year, the unit coordinated with local authorities and forces stationed in the area to promptly extinguish 7 fires, contributing to protecting the lives and property of the people and the State.

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Nguyen Van Bach acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Naval Region 5 Command in the past time, and at the same time requested the unit to continue to implement the criteria for building a strong, exemplary and representative unit. In particular, focusing on doing well the political education for officers and soldiers; strictly maintaining forces and means ready for combat, patrolling, managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Navy requested the unit to proactively supplement and improve the system of combat documents; grasp the local situation; strictly manage defense land; grasp and resolve soldiers' ideology well; effectively manage soldiers' health; maintain weapons and technical equipment in a synchronous, high-quality and effective manner; ensure absolute safety in all activities, especially safety in training, live-fire testing, drills and traffic safety...
