The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued Decision No. 215/QD-UBND approving the project "Improving clean water - personal hygiene and environmental conditions in the Huong Hoa Regional Program" in 06 communes: Huong Tan, Huong Linh, Huong Phung, Huong Son, Huong Viet, Huong Lap sponsored by World Vision International (WVI).
With a non-refundable aid of 46,920 USD, equivalent to more than 1.14 billion VND and implementation period until the end of September 2025. The project is associated with the goal of improving clean water supply conditions, personal hygiene, and environment to prevent infectious diseases in 06 communes including: Huong Tan, Huong Linh, Huong Phung, Huong Son, Huong Viet, Huong Lap under the Huong Hoa District Regional Program (Quang Tri).

The main components and activities of the project include: Training for the Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Management Board on water resource protection, water treatment, promoting community resources, promoting toilet construction, operation, maintenance, etc.
In addition, there are: communication to the community about clean water and environmental sanitation; Testing the input and output of water sources of the systems; Supporting water systems for the community; National level seminars and monitoring activities.
Huong Hoa is a mountainous border district located in the west of Quang Tri province, with 19 communes and 2 towns, with 149 villages, hamlets, and residential groups; of which, 97 hamlets and hamlets benefit from the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas. Ethnic minorities account for nearly 50% of the district's population, with 3 ethnic groups Kinh, Van Kieu, and Pa Ko living together.
The implementation of the project “Improving clean water conditions - personal hygiene and environment in the Huong Hoa Regional Program” has met the aspirations of the people for many years. Thereby, gradually improving the lives of the people in the villages, hamlets, and hamlets, not only promoting economic development, but also contributing to changing the living habits of the local people in 6 mountainous communes.
