Research five more bus routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh airport.

The addition of bus routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh airport will help passengers and residents travel more conveniently when the airport comes into operation. These bus routes will go through many main traffic routes.

According to the plan, when operating in phase 1, the connection between Long Thanh Airport and Ho Chi Minh City will mainly be carried out through main traffic routes, including Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and provincial roads 25B, 25C through Cat Lai Bridge, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City.

It is known that the Ministry of Transport is currently seeking opinions on five connection options between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Long Thanh, including two road options and three railway routes.

The options were completed by the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development under the Ministry of Transport.

The road will be 43km to 62km long, with priority given to direct bus routes and other modes of transport such as taxis and private cars. The railway will be 42 to 45km long, connecting to the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway. The investment roadmap for the routes is divided into 4 phases, from 2025 to 2050.

The first road option connects via Pham Van Dong Street and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway in 3 directions: Via Ring Road 2, 48km long or via Cat Lai Bridge, 57km long; via National Highway 1, 53km long; via National Highway 1K, 62km long.

Option 2 connects the road from Tan Son Nhat airport along urban routes with 3 connection directions. One is through Thu Thiem tunnel, 43km long; through Nguyen Thi Dinh street, Cat Lai bridge, 51km long; through Nguyen Huu Tho street and Phu My 2 bridge, 50km long.

Connecting the two airports by road will prioritize arranging direct bus routes, bus routes with starting and ending points at the two ports, without stopping along the way to ensure the fastest travel time. Option 3 is connecting by urban railway line No. 6 and the 4km Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line.

Option 4 is to connect by urban railway line No. 2 and Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line, 43km long. Option 5 is to connect by urban railway line No. 4 and Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line, 42km long.
