According to the Bac Ninh Provincial Portal, on the afternoon of March 22, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee held a conference on environmental pollution treatment in the Dai Bai craft village industrial cluster (Gia Binh district) and craft villages, industrial clusters, and facilities causing serious environmental pollution in the province.
Recently, Bac Ninh has basically and thoroughly resolved pollution in three long-standing craft villages including Phong Khe (Bac Ninh city), Phu Lam (Tien Du district) and Van Mon (Yen Phong district) to draw experience for handling other hot spots.
According to the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, from March 25 to April 30, 2025, the authorities will strengthen management, inspection, supervision, environmental pollution treatment, fire prevention and fighting, and rescue at craft villages, industrial clusters, and facilities causing serious environmental pollution.
The places of interest are the craft village - Dai Bai bronze casting industrial cluster, Da Hoi steel recycling craft village and Ma Ong, Chau Khe, and Chau Khe expansion industrial clusters (Tu Son city)...
For example, Dai Bai bronze casting village, famous for bronze casting, aluminum casting, handicraft production, and metal carving, has more than 2,300 households with nearly 8,400 people and currently does not have a centralized wastewater treatment area, and many high columns of smoke emit air pollution.
Casting, recycling of aluminum and copper scrap or metal cleaning results in large amounts of waste that is not treated and discharged into the environment.
Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan stated that "the province will not let the pain of environmental pollution last long, and will not accept the existence of hot spots and violations of environmental pollution."
The head of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested Gia Binh district to take action, strictly handle violations, resolutely file prosecutions for serious violations, and repeat violations. Review and strictly handle cases of officials who collude and lax management.
From now until April 15, Gia Binh district must handle all facilities causing environmental pollution in Dai Bai commune. Facilities that do not meet the requirements regarding land, construction, environment, electrical safety, and fire prevention and fighting must stop operating.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial Police to set up a hotline to receive all feedback and recommendations.
Localities in the province review and promptly handle environmental violations in the area. Encourage press and media agencies to disseminate and update information on environmental pollution treatment to ensure sustainable development.
