70%-90% of adults are infected with HP bacteria

On July 6, in Hanoi , the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association organized the Volunteer Day for Community Health 2024 program, examining and screening for digestive diseases.

At the program, 1,000 Hanoi residents received specialist examinations, X-rays, ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, tests, and screening for Helicobacter pylori (HP) bacteria in the stomach...

According to Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, HP bacteria is the main cause of stomach diseases and is also a very common bacteria in Vietnam with a high infection rate, especially in areas with poor hygiene conditions. Many studies show that the rate of HP infection in adults in Vietnam is about 70%-90%.
