The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi commanded the Israeli military's attack on Iran on October 26.
The Times of Israel reported on October 26 that the IDF released images of Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Israeli Air Force (IAF) Commander Tomber Bar present at the Israeli Air Force's underground base in Tel Aviv to coordinate the attack.

Regarding the attack on Iran, The Jerusalem Post reported that more than 100 Israeli aircraft participated in this campaign, including F-35 fighters. Accordingly, the Israeli army carried out a preemptive strike on the radar system in Syria to "blind" Iran's interception capabilities, then attacked the cities of Tehran and Karaj.
Israel's Kan 11 station reported that the attack on Iran ended at 5:45 a.m. on October 26 (local time). The IDF announced that all targets had been completed and the planes returned safely. Iran's Fars news agency said that several military bases in the west and southwest of Tehran were targeted.
Israel retaliates against Iran, US says no involvement
Israel’s attack plans initially appeared to be disrupted after the leak of classified US documents on October 18, which contained information about the deployment plans of the Israeli Air Force. This raised speculation that Tel Aviv had to change tactics and postpone the plan. However, an Israeli official denied that the document leak had influenced the choice of timing to attack Iran, according to The Times of Israel .
Another senior Israeli official said the Israeli security cabinet approved the plan to attack Iran on the evening of October 25. The Israeli military said it would be vigilant for further developments, as Iran and its proxy allies in Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon prepare a response.
