Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long (far right) presents the certificate of ranking the Tu Luong Xam relic cluster as a special national relic to the leaders of Hai Phong City.

The Tu Luong Xam relic complex - Ngo Quyen's headquarters in 938, located in Nam Hai Ward (Hai An District), is where King Ngo Quyen set up his headquarters in the fight against the Southern Han invaders on the historic Bach Dang River.

This is also one of 24 historical relics in Hai An district worshiping King Ngo Quyen and is honored as "Tu Ca", the leading place to worship King Ngo Quyen.

Notably, this place is also a historical relic, preserving a battle on Bach Dang River that "resounded for thousands of years" with many great historical values left for posterity today.

The Tu Luong Xam relic complex - Ngo Quyen's headquarters preserves 125 artifacts, antiques and 25 royal decrees dating from 1522 to 1924 of the Le So, Mac, Le Trung Hung, Tay Son and Nguyen dynasties.

In particular, this place also preserves 3 stakes, which are considered to be evidence of the historic Bach Dang battle in 938. With such values and meanings, in 1986, Tu Luong Xam was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). In 2022, the traditional Tu Luong Xam festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage.

Recently, on January 17, the Prime Minister decided to rank the Tu Luong Xam relic complex - Ngo Quyen's headquarters in 938 as a special national relic.

Thus, up to now, Hai Phong has 5 relics ranked as special national historical relics. Of which, Cat Ba archipelago scenic relic was recognized in 2013; Nguyen Binh Khiem Temple historical relic was recognized in 2015.
