Handover of the largest bulk carrier built by a Vietnamese enterprise

Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company delivered a 65,000 DWT ship, the largest bulk carrier built by a Vietnamese enterprise, and signed contracts to build two more ships in the series.


Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited has just delivered 65,000 DWT ship No. 1 and signed a contract to build 2 new ships No. 3 and No. 4 in the series of 65,000 DWT ships invested by Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Pham Quang Tuyen, Acting General Director of Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited, said that the 65,000 DWT ship No. 1 in the batch of two 65,000 DWT ships ordered by Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company is named "Truong Minh Dream 01".

The ship has an overall length of 199.99m, a width of 32.26m, and a total capacity of 35,823GT. The ship was designed by Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Joint Stock Company (Visec) in conjunction with Blutech Company - Finland with many outstanding features compared to similar products in the world .

The ship is equipped with modern equipment, complies with the latest international conventions and is classified by the Japan Register of Shipping to operate in all international waters, as well as satisfy the requirements of all seaports in the world.

The ship was built by Nam Trieu Shipyard and launched on May 11, 2024. After completion, the ship began sea trials on December 4, 2024. The ship has now been completed and is ready for handover and operation. This is the largest ship built by a Vietnamese enterprise.

"The handover of the 65,000DWT cargo ship No. 1 is an extremely meaningful event, marking the outstanding success of the staff and technical workers of Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company. This is also a premise and opportunity for Nam Trieu to continue to receive the trust of partners, especially Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company, by continuing to sign a contract to build two new 65,000DWT ships No. 3 and No. 4", Mr. Tuyen said and added that with this contract, it contributes to ensuring jobs and income for Nam Trieu Shipbuilding employees in the following years.
