On July 1, Tay Ninh printed newspaper published its first issue, marking the day of merging Long An and Tay Ninh provinces into the new Tay Ninh province.
The predecessor of the newspaper was Nhat Tri Newspaper, which was unanimously established by the Standing Committee of Long An Provincial Party Committee on June 21, 1946.
In May 1976, Long An and Kien Tuong provinces merged into Long An province. The News and Press departments of the two provinces also merged into one and took the name Long An Newspaper.
Yesterday, June 30, the print newspaper Long An Newspaper also published its last issue. It was the 120th print issue in 2025 and the 7,515th issue after 79 years of operation.
According to the project to merge Long An and Tay Ninh provinces, Long An Provincial Newspaper and Radio - Television Station will merge with Tay Ninh Provincial Newspaper and Radio - Television Station to form a new unit named Tay Ninh Provincial Newspaper and Radio - Television Station, which is the agency of the Communist Party of Vietnam Committee of Tay Ninh Province, the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of Tay Ninh Province.
The Tay Ninh Newspaper will be published five times a week from Monday to Friday.
On the morning of July 1, the Standing Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee also commented that Tay Ninh Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station will change the names of two TV channels TTV11 and LA34 to Tay Ninh 1 and Tay Ninh 2 to continue serving the people until September 2025.
FM broadcasting at two frequencies 103.1 MHz - 96.9 MHz will remain as it is now.
The online newspaper will also be temporarily published on two addresses baotayninh.vn and baolongan.vn before merging into one online version, along with the Tay Ninh printed publication at the end of the month.
