On February 14, information from Binh Thuan Provincial Police said that in the early morning of the same day, while performing his duties, a police lieutenant of the Mobile Police Regiment under the Mobile Police Command of the Ministry of Public Security had an accident and died.
Specifically, implementing the peak plan to strengthen patrols to ensure traffic safety and order before, during and after the Lunar New Year, on February 14, the Traffic Police Department of Binh Thuan Province Police assigned a working group to patrol and control on National Highway 1A, through Ham Tan district.
At 5:42 a.m. the same day, at Km 1767+800 National Highway 1A, in Hamlet 2, Tan Duc Commune, Ham Tan District (Binh Thuan Province), Lieutenant T.D.L. (a police officer of Duc Linh District, Binh Thuan Province) was reinforcing the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, driving a patrol car, accompanied by Lieutenant PTP (an officer of the Mobile Police Regiment under the Mobile Police Command of the Ministry of Public Security, reinforcing the Traffic Police Department of Binh Thuan Province), suddenly crashed into a concrete pillar on the side of the road and plunged into a ditch.
As a result of the incident, both soldiers were injured and were taken to Ham Tan District Medical Center for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, Lieutenant PTP did not survive.
Leaders of Binh Thuan Provincial Police were present at the scene in time to direct the handling of the incident.
