The Ministry of Education and Training is expected to announce the difference in scores of five traditional university entrance exam combinations on July 21.
This is also the time when the Ministry of Education and Training announces the threshold to ensure input quality (also known as the floor score) for the pedagogical and health science sectors.
The above information was shared by Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) Nguyen Tien Thao at the 2025 Admission Selection Day held on July 19 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with Tuoi Tre Newspaper. About 10,000 candidates and parents attended this event.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao, unlike previous years, this year the admission scores will be converted between groups and methods to create fairness for candidates. A major can be admitted using many groups, the difference in scores between groups will be adjusted according to the percentile.
The Ministry will announce the percentile of the five traditional combinations A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), B00 (math, chemistry, biology), C00 (literature, history, geography), D01 (math, literature, English) on July 21, at the same time as announcing the threshold to ensure input quality for the pedagogical and health sectors.
This is the basis for candidates in the process of choosing admission wishes, and at the same time, helps schools refer to when building a conversion table of standard scores between methods and combinations.
Attending the Admission Selection Day, candidates and parents have the opportunity to directly ask questions to be answered directly by the advisory board including representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of National Defense and representatives of a number of major universities and colleges.
In addition, candidates and parents can also find information about admissions at about 160 consulting booths of training institutions. Candidates can meet admissions representatives from the schools they are interested in, and learn about the training program, learning environment as well as career orientation, study abroad opportunities and international joint programs...
In fact, many candidates are still confused when choosing their wishes and choosing the priority order of their wishes for majors and universities. Candidates will have a period of time to research, find information and officially register their wishes for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system (http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn) before 5:00 p.m. on July 28.
The advisory board notes that before registering for admission on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates need to carefully study the admission plans of the schools to choose a major, choose a school, clearly know the subject combinations for admission, and from there register appropriate wishes, helping to increase the chance of admission.
After July 28, candidates will not be able to change their registered wishes.
From 5:00 p.m. on July 23, training institutions will announce the scores for receiving application documents and equivalent converted admission scores on the system and on the websites of the training institutions.
The list of successful candidates for the first round will be announced from 5:00 p.m. on August 22. Candidates will confirm their admission online for the first round on the system from 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
