Ministry of Transport summarizes work in 2024

On the afternoon of December 30, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) held an online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025 of the transport sector. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended and delivered a speech at the conference. Attending at the Ninh Thuan bridge were comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Transport and related departments and branches.

In 2024, the transport sector has resolutely and effectively implemented tasks and solutions in all fields, thereby completing the set goals and tasks, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the country. The progress of important national projects and key projects of the transport sector has been basically guaranteed; many long-standing difficulties and problems have been resolved, and a number of projects have been completed ahead of schedule. The Ministry of Transport has disbursed about 62,200 billion VND, reaching 80% of the plan; striving to reach 95% of the plan by the end of the fiscal year. The work of building and perfecting institutions has had many breakthroughs, contributing to promoting decentralization and delegation of power, promoting production and business activities, and removing difficulties for enterprises. Transport activities continue to have many positive changes. Transport output has increased steadily in all fields, and service quality continues to be improved. In 2024, freight transport output is estimated to reach 2,450 million tons, an increase of 14.5% over the same period in 2023. The maritime, inland waterway, and railway sectors continue to be focused on promoting development, contributing to reducing pressure on roads.

Comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference at the Ninh Thuan province bridge.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the results and strong development of the transport sector. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, the sector pay attention to stabilizing and streamlining the organization and apparatus in a streamlined manner, training human resources; continuing to ensure smooth, safe and convenient transport operations, promptly serving people and businesses. Commenced construction of 19 projects, completed 50 projects; completed component projects, connected the North-South expressway in the East and together with localities completed a number of expressway projects to fulfill the goal of putting 3,000km of expressway into operation; completed and basically connected the Ho Chi Minh road; basically completed the Long Thanh International Airport Project. The sector needs higher political determination, developing maritime transport; green transformation of means of transport. Continuing institutional reform, especially maritime, inland waterway and aviation projects, with a high-speed railway connecting Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, transportation continues to be the leading industry paving the way, connecting socio-economic development.
