Ministry of Health deploys tasks for 2024

On January 9, the Ministry of Health held an online conference with provinces and cities across the country to deploy tasks for 2024. Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

In 2023, the health sector achieved many very positive results, exceeding 3/3 of the main socio -economic targets assigned by the National Assembly and 7/9 specific targets assigned by the Government. Specifically, 12.5 doctors/10,000 people; 32 hospital beds/10,000 people; 93.2% of the population participating in health insurance... Medical examination and treatment activities are increasingly improved. Satellite hospital projects, family doctor projects, remote medical examination and treatment, line guidance, and technology transfer are being promoted. People's satisfaction rate with health services is over 90%.

In 2024, the health sector will focus on solutions to develop a fair, high-quality, and effective health system. Strive to complete the following targets: The rate of population participating in health insurance will reach 94.1%; the number of doctors per 10,000 people will reach 13.5 doctors; the number of hospital beds per 10,000 people will reach 32.5; 90% of the population will have health management; the mortality rate of children under 1 year old will reach 11.5/1,000 live births; the mortality rate of children under 5 years old will reach 18/1,000 live births; the rate of people's satisfaction with health services will reach 80%...

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested the health sector to focus on effectively controlling epidemics, proactively responding to cases, and ensuring food safety during the 2024 Lunar New Year. Synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment; promote public health management.
