Nghe An While visiting his garden, Mr. Luong Van An in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district discovered a bomb rising above the ground in a stream near his house.
The bomb, with the detonator intact, weighing nearly 350 kg, 1.5 m long, and 40 cm in diameter, was found on the morning of September 27 at the edge of a stream upstream of Cham Bay Dam in Tien Phong Commune. The soil around the bomb was eroded, with many rocks protruding. The authorities have put up warning signs, prohibiting people from approaching.

Today, the Engineering Department of Nghe An Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Military Command of Que Phong District to bring the bomb to the ground and transport it to Muong Him hill, Tien Phong commune for detonation.
The bomb was identified as a penetration bomb, left over from the war. The shell was rusty but the serial number was still quite clear.
During the war years, many districts in Nghe An, including Que Phong, suffered thousands of bombs and mines. After peace was restored, authorities cleared all explosives, but a few remained underground.
On September 26-27, heavy rain in Nghe An caused flooding in Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Tan Ky districts... When the flood receded, roads were eroded and some structures were damaged.
