Brazil takes over G20 presidency

On September 10, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the closing of the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi.

Mr. Modi also handed over the G20 Presidency hammer to Brazilian President Lula da Silva, whose country will officially assume the G20 Presidency for a period of one year, starting from December 1, 2023.

According to President Lula da Silva, the G20 Presidency of Brazil has three priorities: social inclusion and the fight against hunger; energy transition and sustainable development; and reform of global governance institutions. All of these priorities are aimed at Brazil's goal of building a fair world and a sustainable planet. Also at the closing ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed to hold an online G20 meeting at the end of November.
