(NLDO) - The dredging of Cai Doi Vam estuary will make seafood exploitation activities of fishermen in Ca Mau easier.
On March 10, the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province said that the project to dredge Cai Doi Vam estuary, Phu Tan district, Ca Mau province was implemented in the form of socialization with a total investment of about 30 billion VND invested and constructed by a company in Ho Chi Minh City.
The dredging of Cai Doi Vam estuary has created excitement among the people in general and Ca Mau fishermen in particular.
"According to the form of socialization, enterprises carry out dredging projects combined with product recovery, so the budget does not have to spend money on investment but also collects some taxes, fees... related to resources" - a source added.
Cai Doi Vam is considered one of the largest seaports in Ca Mau province. In recent times, this seaport has been silted up, making it difficult for vessels to enter and exit to exploit seafood.
The total estimated dredging volume according to the Cai Doi Vam estuary dredging plan is about 400,000 m3 of soil and will be carried out in 10 months. The dredging of Cai Doi Vam estuary has created excitement among the people, because from now on, fishing vessels entering and exiting the estuary will become easier.
