On the afternoon of November 14, in Can Tho City, the workshop "Green energy - policies and practical solutions for businesses in the Mekong Delta" took place, organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City in coordination with the Center for Science and Cooperation Net Zero Vietnam.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City - said that the city had just worked with Mr. Ha Vi, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and Mr. Wei Hua Tuong, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, on opening a flight route connecting Can Tho City with several localities in China.

Specifically, exploiting flights from Yunnan province and Chongqing city of China to Can Tho city to connect trade. At the same time, the city continues to reconnect flights from Can Tho to Thailand, Singapore and some other countries to effectively exploit Can Tho international airport.

According to Mr. Son, Can Tho International Airport is designed with a capacity of 3.5 million to 5 million passengers/year, and is the key international airport of the Mekong Delta.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the city designed to connect this airport with 6 international routes and 39 domestic routes, but after the pandemic, due to some difficulties, it only operates two international routes with South Korea and Malaysia.

It is known that with the reopening of the Can Tho - Da Lat route from this November, Can Tho International Airport now has 8 domestic routes: to Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh, Hai Phong, Con Dao and Quang Ninh operated by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and VASCO.
